WELCOME LETTER FROM MRS. PEACOCK AND DR. SINGLETON

Dear LME Families,

Welcome back to another incredible year at Lake Mary Elementary! Dr. Singleton and I are confident that the 2018-2019 school year will be another remarkable year for our students, families and staff.

Seminole County Public Schools and Lake Mary Elementary focus on three areas to ensure all stakeholders have the best educational experience; they are Safety, Relationships and Achievement. These three areas go hand in hand making SCPS and LME an “A Rated” district and school.

At LME we have a number of procedures and protocols in place to protect everyone’s safety. Our campus is secured by emergency gates, only accessible through the main office. Additionally, ALL visitors are required to show a photo ID and be checked-in through our Raptor identification system. Our School Resource Officer, Officer Kim, is present on campus daily. We believe that safety is our first priority for everyone.

Relationships are the backbone to any great organization. It is important for families and the school staff to build positive relationships early in the school year. Open communication with your child’s teacher sets a tone that everyone is on the same page and focused on the same goals.

Finally, it wouldn’t be a school without academics. Our students are engaged in a variety of individual and group instructional activities throughout the day. Students have the opportunity to extend their learning with the district supported website: iReady for ELA and Math. At SCPS, we have an academic goal that “All students will have one year’s academic growth in one year’s time!” We are ready for a great year that focuses on safety, relationships and academics.

Welcome back,

Mrs. Peacock and Dr. Singleton
